Following consultation with relevant stakeholders, Football Federation Australia has regrettably decided to cancel the 2021 Futsal National Championships due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, FFA said the COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruption to the Australian football calendar, which has made scheduling and planning for the Futsal National Championships extremely challenging.

“Further, there remains some uncertainty regarding travel restrictions and the re-opening of borders across the country, which impacts on this national event,” the statement read. “The upcoming period now allows FFA the time to continue to work together with the Member Federations and other key stakeholders on enhancing future championships.”

We are disappointed that we won’t be able to see our teams representing the nation’s capital next year but we hope to see you all in 2022!
