The Bellingham Cup 23 has been run and won and was a great success despite Mother Nature sharing some rain and thunder with the University of Canberra and Capital Football combining to play a big part in that success.
With monies still coming in it appears the club will raise close to $5,000 in the month of March which will be donated directly to the Agnes Ginges Centre for Molecular Cardiology at the Centenary Institute and promote the importance of medical research in Cardiology at the Centenary Institute, and particularly in the area of sudden cardiac death in the young.
The Bellingham Cup is an annual gala day and fundraiser held in honor of Aaiden Bellingham, who passed away in 2017 as a result of a sudden cardiac episode. The event is used to kick off the 2023 season for the University of Canberra Football Club and aims to raise money and awareness for the work that the Centenary Institute does in researching genetic heart disease in the young, particularly amongst children and young adults.
We all look forward to another successful Bellingham Cup 2024.
