Boomerangs FS 1 (Isobel D’Amico 14′) drew. NC Untouchables Red 1 (Krista Hagen 36′)
Boomerangs rounded off their 2017/18 Women’s FPL season as Untouchables Red pulled back a late goal for a 1-1 draw in Round 14.
They went into the game unable to make finals but started strongly regardless, and Isobel D’Amico put them in the lead after just 14 minutes with a well-taken goal. Boomerangs continued to push in the first half and were the dominant side, but were unable to convert their pressure onto the scoreboard.
The second half began as a more even affair but with both sides struggling to make the most of their opportunities, until four minutes from time as Krista Hagen pulled a goal back to steal a point for Untouchables.
CUA 17’s Green 1 (Emma Ilijoski 29′) def. by Belconnen United Blue Devils 3 (Own Goal 3′, Samantha Price 9′, Rachael Corbett 20′)
Belconnen United consolidated their spot at the top of the Premier League ladder with a 3-1 win over the Academy Green side. The Academy got off to a rough start as an own goal set them back in just the third minute and the Blue Devils stole the initiative from there.
Samantha Price scored six minutes later to double the lead and when Rachael Corbett scored on the stroke of the break it looked like the 30 half-time lead was only the beginning. But the Academy fought back, and Emma Ilijoski’s goal with 11 minutes left game them hope but it was a task too tall as Belconnen finished 3-1 winners.
