Gungahlin United kept their perfect record intact after a goal-filled Round 8 of the Capital Football Women’s Futsal Premier League.
An incredible nine-goal first half from Gungahlin United set the tone for their thrashing of Untouchables Red at the AIS, as four goals from Ashleigh Palmobi highlighted the 13-1 win.
Brittany Palombi got things underway after just seven minutes with her first goal, before first-half hat tricks from both Ashleigh Palombi and Georgia Fogarty had Untouchables reeling around goals from Michelle Aurousseau and Najwa Allen.
United did not let up after the break either as Ashleigh scored within minutes of the restart to seal her four-goal haul, with Aurousseau completing her brace minutes later. Dianne Wilson offered up a consolation goal for Untouchables with 27 minutes on the board, however Brittany Palombi and Najwa Allen both scored again to round out an emphatic victory.
A 1-0 lead for Boomerangs FS at half-time gave little indication of their second half blitz as they beat Boomerangs Youth 7-0.
Michaela Day’s strike after 13 minutes gave Boomerangs the lead, and the difference remained one goal at the break. Amelia Turner doubled the advantage within one minute of the restart before Kate Deakin made it three goals after 27 minutes. Deakin secured her brace just two minutes later, and then goals from Nicole Jalocha, Krista Hagen and Rachael Corbett all within the last 10 minutes saw the scoreline balloon out before the final whistle.
