Gungahlin United outlined their favouritism in the ACT Women’s Futsal Premier League with a 9-1 hammering of closest challengers Boomerangs FS in the latest round of action. Gunners’ were in irresistible form early on and roared into a 5-0 half-time lead as Grace Field struck twice in the first twelve minutes, either side of a Najwa Allen goal.
Ashleigh Palombi bagged the fourth goal of the evening before Becky Roche made it five before the half-time break. It was a similar tale in the second stanza as Ashleigh Palombi netted her second to bring up the half dozen. Field completed a hat-trick in the 36th minute with goals from Brittany Palombi either side of the strike emphasising the Gunners’ superiority. Nicola Jalocha nabbed a late consolation for Boomerangs.
In the NCU Untouchables derby match it was NC Untouchables Navy who emerged victorious over NC Untouchables Red with a 4-0 success. All the goals were scored late on as Freya Jacobsen broke the deadlock in the 29th minute. Three goals in the last four minutes from Alex Martens, Alice Churchill and Erika Pennyfield completed a good night’s work for NC Untouchables Navy.
