Adamantios Exarhos
Adamantios "Tom" Exarhos, a Canberra Olympic legend, was inducted into Capital Football's Hall of Fame in 2010.
As a foundation player for Canberra Olympic in 1956, Tom built a reputation as an exceptional striker and drew attention to the local ACT competition. He represented the ACT many times during the ’50s and ’60s and even played for Australia in friendly matches against Costa Rica and Blackpool FC in 1959.
As an immigrant to Australia, Tom achieved an impressive career spanning 50 years (1958-2008), from international, state, and local player to administrator, president, and coach.
When Canberra Olympic went through a difficult time in the 1980s, Tom returned to the club as a coach and administrator, serving as the club’s presidents for eight years. He was instrumental to the club’s success and longevity.
In 2010, Tom Exarhos was inducted into the Capital Football Hall of Fame.
