Capital Football’s part in the Club Changer program continues to gather pace as the Federation now contains three 2-star accredited clubs and 27 1-star accredited games heading into the commencement of the 2024 season.
Brindabella Blues, West Canberra Wanderers and Canberra White Eagles have become the first clubs in the Capital Football region to achieve their 2-star accreditation, the main focuses of which is ‘Safeguarding’, creating measure to protect our footballing community.
Only nine clubs in the entirety of the country have achieved 2-star accreditation, and the fact a third of them are in our own backyard is a fantastic achievement.
“It’s a magnificent achievement for the ACT and Capital Football to have three clubs receive 2-star recognition as Club Changers,” Dylan Deep-Jones, Capital Football Club Development Manager said.
“These clubs have worked exceptionally hard to earn this recognition, and we would like to pass on our congratulations to everyone involved at Brindabella Blues, West Canberra Wanderers and Canberra White Eagles for their commitment to growing their club.”
This month the Socceroos came to Canberra after a five-year hiatus and Capital Football used this chance to give 1-star Club Changer clubs’ the chance to be involved in the match-day as mascots, ball bods, half-time heroes, and little legends.
Clubs involved included, Woden Valley, Tuggeranong United, Yass FC, Majura FC, Radford College, Monaro Panthers, Cooma FC, Gungahlin United, Canberra Croatia, Canberra Olympic, Belnorth, BellaMonaro, Canberra White Eagles, West Canberra Wanderers and Brindabella Blues.
