Missed the Women’s National Premier League Round 4? Here’s your wrap-up!
IN A NUTSHELL
Only the two matches in the Women’s NPL this week and both went according to the script. Gungahlin United took their goal tally against AN U WFC to fourteen in the week following up their Federation Cup success with an 8-0 league win over the University side, whilst Canberra Olympic netted twice in the second-half to down Tuggeranong United 3-0.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
A defensive error from ANU WFC punished to the full as Kayla Wright takes one touch to steady herself, and a second to chip a delightful finish over the opposition goalkeeper. Pitching wedge out, ball in net. Sorted.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
The experienced Michaela Thornton gets the nod for Performance of the Week. Superb in defence, and in midfielder, excellent leadership skills and a goal and assist as Olympic defeated Tuggeranong United 3-0 at O’Connor Enclosed.
TEAM OF THE WEEK
COMING SOON
There’s a big match-up between Gungahlin United and Canberra Croatia this weekend as two in-form teams meet in what is generally a very good fixture to watch. Canberra Olympic travel to take on ANU WFC, whilst Belconnen United, fresh off the bye meet Tuggeranong United down South. West Canberra Wanderers have another week off.
