Missed the Women’s National Premier League Round 12? Here’s your wrap-up!
IN A NUTSHELL
A superb performance from Canberra Olympic weas the highlight of Round 12, the top-of-the-table clash against Belconnen United going the way of the hosts with a 4-0 hammering. A simply stunning display from Olympic. Canberra Croatia snuck past ANU WFC by a single goal and honours were share din the Southside derby between Tuggeranong and Wets Canberra.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
When the two top teams meet, it’s often a cagey affair, but not so at O’Connor Enclosed, where the game was lit up by a fantastic second goal for the home team. Tianah Miro took aim from distance and found a finish of power and accuracy to help set her team on the way to a vital success.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
The entire Canberra Olympic squad can take a bow this week. Belconnen have never conceded four in the regular season in the NPL era, and they did just that at O’Connor Enclosed as Madelyn Whittall (2), Madison Cachia, and a magnificent goal from Tianah Miro put Olympic six points clear at the top of the pile.
