Missed the Men’s National Premier League Round 18? Here’s your wrap-up!
IN A NUTSHELL
Yoogali SC performed superbly to earn a 1-1 draw against the Knights in Griffith, and arguably should have won creating a host of good chances, Croatia did win, thanks to a 92nd minute thunderbolt from substitute Atiya Waraga, whilst Angus Bailey’s goal was enough for Tigers to sink Olympic. Over at the Riverside, Lupino and Katsoulis drew 2-2.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
We picked a tap-in this week…… Antoni Timotheou sent over a delicious cross at the Riverside in first-half stoppage time and, anxious perhaps to get in for some refreshment, Michael Katsoulis eschewed taking a touch and contorted his body to lamp a stunning side-on bicycle kick that flashed into the net. That’ll do nicely thanks very much!
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
Midfield dynamo Josh De Rossi was everywhere for Yoogali SC as they earned a draw against the Knights at Solar Mad and arguably….. see above you get the drift…. Intelligent positioning, excellent distribution, box-to-box running, and the equalising goal to boot all in a standout ninety- minute package.
