Eden Rodda struck a first-half hat-trick as Belconnen United recovered from their opening day defeat in the National Premier League Women’s Reserve Grade division to claim a 4-1 away win over Tuggeranong United at Kambah 2.
Rodda struck twice in the opening nineteen minutes to set the tone for the match, Leila Billington adding a third just past the half-hour mark. Rodda completed her treble five minutes later, Tuggeranong recovering well after the break to defend well and reduce the deficit via a goal from Charlotte Evans with eight minutes to play.
There was only one goal in the match at Dickson, but it was enough for West Canberra Wanderers to come away with all three points against Majura FC as Evdoxia Mantinaos grabbed what prove to be the difference-maker just before the half-hour mark in an even match.
Canberra Olympic continued their strong start to the season with a 4-0 win over Gungahlin United at O’Connor Enclosed. Alexia Cerne struck twice within the space of three minutes in the first-half to allow the hosts control of the match, Sienna Dy-Mortimer and Sofia Pirotta adding to the total in the second-half.
The scheduled fixture between ANU WFC and Canberra Croatia at Hawker Football Centre was postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
