O’Connor Knights were crowned Grand Final winners in the NPL14 Boys competition as they romped to a 5-1 win over League Champions Gungahlin United at South Jerrabomberra Regional Sporting Complex. The underdogs were sublime, taking a first-half lead through Cruise Montana, and doubling that advantage in the second-half through a Marko Radic penalty. The Gunners pulled one back through O’Shea Clohesy, but two goals un twelve minutes from Nolan Francesconi and Tomi Radic took the game out of Gungahlin’s reach. A late fifth from Ater Berchilay confirmed the Knights as victors.

Canberra Croatia won a thrill a minute NPL15 Grand Final at South Jerrabomberra Regional Spirting Complex, coming out on top in a five-goal stunner by defeating Belconnen United 3-2. Croatia had finished seventeen points clear of Belconnen in the final table but were pushed all the way by the Blue Devils. Jacob Pratezina put Croatia ahead in the eighteenth minute, only for Lucas Carbonell to draw Belconnen on terms six minutes later. A brace from Elijah Birrell had Croatia firmly in control of the game in the second half, however Carbonell pulled one back to set up a sterling finale where Croatia held on for victory.

Canberra Olympic went from fourth place to Grand Final Champions as they defeated Canberra Croatia 1-0 to win the National Premier League under-16 title at South Jerrabomberra Regional Sporting Complex. Olympic had finished four points behind Croatia in the table, but after seeing off League Champions O’Connor Knights in the semi-final, did the same for second-placed Canberra Croatia. Hugo Whitmore provided the only goal of the match in the 67th minute, Olympic defending well to hold on to their lead and claim the silverware.

NPL18
Brindabella Blues completed a remarkable end of season run to claim the NPL18 Boys Grand Final with a 2-1 win over Gungahlin United at South Jerrabomberra Regional Sporting Complex. The Gunners hit the front in the nineteenth minute as Alexander Cvetkovski broke the deadlock with a finally taken goal, the strike being the difference between the two teams at the half-time interval. Incredibly, after their battering of the League Champions a week ago, the Blues found the resourcefulness to strike back again after the break. Two goals in two minutes from Cooper Gavin turned the game on its head and, despite the late dismissal of Fraser Tohilima, Brindabella held on for a stunning success.
