The Capital Football Board would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank outgoing Chair and Director, Angelo Konstatinou, for his outstanding contribution to Capital Football and the local game.
Angelo has served as a Director of Capital Football since 2016 and as Chair since 2024. Across a decade of service, he has helped guide the organisation through a period of significant change, growth and challenge for football in Canberra and the surrounding region. His leadership, commitment and willingness to give his time to the game have been greatly appreciated, and we thank him for his contribution to Capital Football and the broader football community.
As Capital Football enters its next chapter, the Board is pleased to announce the election of Sarah Baker-Goldsmith as Chair of the Capital Football Board and Steve Rohan-Jones as Deputy Chair.
Sarah Baker-Goldsmith has served on the Capital Football Board since July 2023. A former player within our football community and a practising local barrister, Sarah brings a strong understanding of the game, together with valuable governance and leadership experience.
Steve Rohan-Jones joined the Board in May 2024 and brings extensive experience across the football landscape. A former club president and current NPL Women’s coach, Steve is deeply connected to the football community and passionate about the continued growth of the game across the ACT region.
As they commence in their new roles, Sarah and Steve are keen to hear directly from members of the football community. They will host an online community forum on Wednesday 3 June at 6:30pm, providing an opportunity for participants to share their views on the question:
“What do you think Capital Football should be working on this year?”
Community members interested in attending can register by emailing luana.bishara@capitalfootball.com.au by 1:00pm on the day of the meeting. A Teams link will be provided to registered participants prior to the session.
Questions can also be submitted in advance via boardfeedback@capitalfootball.com.au.
To support open and constructive discussion, participants will be required to join using their name and with cameras enabled. The meeting will also be recorded to ensure feedback and discussion points are accurately captured.
Capital Football looks forward to continuing to work alongside clubs, participants, volunteers and stakeholders to support and grow football across our region.
