This year National Volunteer Week (NVW) will take place from 19-25 May.

There are three national webinars being hosted in the next fortnight which will be beneficial for both ACT sporting clubs and State Sporting Organisations as well as our upcoming MPIO round table face to face event.

• The eSafety Commissioner is offering two free webinars to help sport organisations and athletes to place safeguards and navigate any challenges.

Webinars include:

Online safety for sporting clubs: identify and deal with online harm, create a safe environment and access helpful resources for your sporting club.

Social media self-defence for elite and pathway athletes: you’ll learn the types of online abuse athletes can face, setting up social media accounts securely, how to manage issues and access support.Thursday, 22 May 1-2PM AEST

• Sport Integrity Australia are also hosting in the lead up to National Volunteer Week 2025 – Sport Integrity 101 for Community Club Volunteers , this webinar is designed to empower and educate community volunteers on the importance of integrity in sport. It will explore best practices for promoting fair play, keeping yourself and children safe in sport, and provide strategies and resources to tackle common volunteer challenges.

At the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

Recognise your role in fostering a positive sporting environment

Identify key strategies to protecting yourself and children

Explore practical solutions and resources to navigate common challenges

Connect with tools, resources and organisations that can assist in upholding the values of sport integrity

• MPIO Round Table – The intent of this face-to-face event is to build the MPIO network and connect MPIO’S from similar ACT sporting organisations. The night will include talking about current issues in sport and how organisations have overcome those issues.
