The Royal Hotel Queanbeyan is thrilled to announce the upcoming inaugural Australian Women’s Football Gala Dinner to honour and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of the CommBank ParaMatildas and raise funds for their 2023 Para Asian Cup campaign.
This exciting event will take place on 14 July 2023 at the Royal Hotel Queanbeyan and is supported by sponsors McDonald’s Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra and the Monaro Panthers Football Club.
The CommBank ParaMatildas have captivated the Australian nation with their exceptional skills, passion, and dedication to the sport of football winning silver in the inaugural IFCPF Women’s World Cup Final in May 2022. Many people are not aware that, unlike the CommBank Matildas, the CommBank ParaMatildas do not receive any funding from the Australian Government.
The Gala Dinner aims to both recognise their remarkable accomplishments and raise much-needed funds for their 2023 Para Asian Cup campaign and show support for these outstanding athletes who bring inspiration to the community.
The event promises to be a truly memorable evening hosted by Capital Football’s Head of Communications, Commentary & Marketing, and FIFA World Cup ADC Commentator, Russ Gibbs.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with the three fantastic keynote speakers – ParaMatildas Nicole Christodoulou and Bec Jones, and Canberra United’s Emma Ilijoski, while they enjoy a dinner followed by a Q&A session with the speakers and the screening of the CommBank Matildas versus France game on the big screen.
Also on the night will be a silent auction (including one of CommBank Matildas star Sam Kerr’s jerseys signed and framed), raffle prizes and lucky door prizes, with all the proceeds being donated to the CommBank ParaMatildas.

The Australian Women’s Football Gala Dinner is a ticket-only event, with limited seats available and tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Tickets are $120, with $50 from every ticket going directly to the ParaMatildas fund and can be purchased at: www.royalhotelqbn.com.au/events.
