Face masks are now required in certain public settings within the ACT. Masks are mandatory in indoor spaces within the ACT, including canteens and changeroom. Capital Football recommends masks be worn outdoors however it is not mandatory.
Ahead of another weekend of Football in the ACT and surrounding regions of New South Wales (NSW), below are the current requirements for face masks in the ACT and NSW when at a sporting venue;
Face Mask Requirements for the ACT
- Children 12 years and under do NOT need to wear face masks
- There are some exemptions for people who have a physical or mental health illness or condition, or disability that makes wearing a face mask unsuitable. For more information on who is exempt please visit here.
- Face masks must be worn by participants, team officials, match officials, spectators, volunteers and venue managers within a futsal venue (face masks can be taken off when a player/match official is warming up and/or when participating on the field in a match, and Team officials and substitutes must wear face masks on the bench at all times)
- Face masks must be worn in all indoor areas this includes changerooms and working in the canteen
- Capital Football strongly recommends that all players, team officials, match officials, spectators, volunteers and venue managers wear facemasks at a venue within the ACT
Face Mask Requirements for NSW
- Children 12 years and under do NOT need to wear face masks
- There are some exemptions for people who have a physical or mental health illness or condition, or disability that makes wearing a face mask unsuitable. For more information on who is exempt please visit here
- Face masks must be worn for all activities taking place in an indoor facility and outdoor community sports (participants, team officials, match officials, spectators, volunteers and venue managers MUST wear a face mask upon arrival to the facility/activity including training and games; participants within the game and match officials are able to remove their masks when warming up and playing the game; team officials, substitutes, spectators, venue managers and volunteers must wear a face mask at all times; following the completion of the match, players and match officials need to put their face masks back on)
- Face masks must be worn in changerooms and canteens
