The second season of the Capital Futsal League promises to be back with a bang as the six clubs go toe-to-toe on the international court at Daramalan College in a bid to usurp title holders West Canberra Lightning (Women) and North Canberra Fire (Men).
With a raft of new players across each club, including many stars of the local National Premier League and the Boomerangs FS squad, the competition is set to ignite the indoor facility once more.
The new season will also showcase the best refereeing talent in the region as the match officials list is in line with the status of the competition providing a pathway for both players and officials to higher honours.
“Last season’s Capital Futsal League was a huge success in terms of the interest generated in the competition and in the number of people watching live via the online broadcasts,” CFL organiser, Andrew Stirton, commented.
“We are confident that the standard will improve again for the new season. Our teams are prepared, the competition is set to be fierce, and we are delighted to be bringing the CFL back to Canberra once more.”
The competition starts with the UC Stars meeting the North Canberra Fire on Friday 20 October, the champion men’s team playing second, whilst the women’s champion Lightning kick-off their title defence on Sunday with a match against ANU Apex.
As per the 2022/23 season Senior Men’s and Women’s matches will be broadcast live on BarTV Sports.
