Football in the ACT is powered by the people who bring passion, commitment and heart to the game – the players who inspire, the coaches who guide, the volunteers who give their time, and the clubs that create connection and community. Our annual Awards exist to honour these contributions and shine a spotlight on the individuals and teams who make football exceptional.

Nominations are officially open until 9am on 2 September, giving both clubs and the football community the chance to recognise their standouts from the season. Whether it was a standout performance, inspiring leadership or someone who consistently showed up for their team, your nomination helps shine a light on their impact.

Our Reward & Recognition Framework 

Our Reward & Recognition Framework guides how nominations are assessed across all award categories. It ensures a fair, consistent and transparent process that celebrates excellence at every level of the game.

The framework considers:

• Contribution to football
• Community influence
• Commitment to the game
• Alignment with Capital Football and the game’s values.

This framework helps us recognise not only high achievement, but also the people who strengthen the culture and spirit of football.

Club nominations

Clubs can formally submit nominations for the following awards:

• Hall of Fame
• Coach of the Year
  • NPL Senior Coach of the Year
  • NPL Youth Coach of the Year
  • Community Leagues Coach of the Year
  • Futsal Coach of the Year
• Volunteer of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Youth Volunteer of the Year
• Innovative Program of the Year
• Club of the Year.

Community nominations

Open to anyone, if someone made a difference in your football experience this season you can put their name forward for:

• Hall of Fame
• Coach of the Year
• Volunteer of the Year.

Nomination deadline

All nominations close 9am on 2 September. Submit early to ensure your nominee is considered.

Capital Football’s 2026 Awards Night

The Awards Night takes place on Friday 18 September at 6:30pm. Clubs have already received their ticket allocations for Awards Night. Additional tickets will be released soon, giving players, supporters and community members the chance to join the celebration.
