Canberra FC have been drawn to face Broadmeadow Magic in the 2018 FFA Cup Round of 32.
Paul Macor’s side were drawn to face the Newcastle based club in one of nine member federation matchups in the draw on Tuesday night and will host the match at Deakin Stadium.
Macor admitted he was hoping for an away trip to a warmer climate but is looking forward to hosting in Canberra regardless.
“Unfortunately we don’t get away to the warmer weather,” he said.
“But it will be great for the fans and football in Canberra to have a home match.”
The match will be part of three weeks of action beginning in late July, with all games to be held on weeknights.
Macor said he had not seen much of the Magic and was looking forward to doing some homework.
“I need to do a bit of research on our opponents tomorrow, look at a bit of video and see what sort of style they play.”
“Regardless of what we know of them, we’re looking forward to the challenge of taking them on.”
The Magic currently sit top of the Northern NSW Football National Premier Leagues, leading Edgeworth FC by a point.
