Capital Football can today confirm the structure of the National Premier Leagues Capital Football from 2019.
In 2019, the NPL Capital Football will consist of an NPL Senior League with two divisions (NPL1 & NPL2) for 1st Grade and U/20’s, with promotion and relegation to be phased in.
There will also be an NPL Youth League that will be decoupled from the Senior League, and with the competition format still to take shape through discussion and consultation with the Football Community.
The change to the structure follows the 2017 Men’s and Boy’s Competition Review, which engaged the Football Community and key stakeholder groups in discussion and analysis of current competition formats.
Capital Football CEO Phil Brown praised the football community for their input help in shaping the future of the NPL in the region.
“We would like to thank the Football Community for their contribution to this process so far, and look forward to further consultation regarding the competition format of the NPL Youth League.”
