The 2017 season saw the first Youth Men’s competition for Futsal. With only 4 teams applying the competition was small but still very competitive and the season concluded with just a straight Grand Final for the top two teams.
Boomerangs White finished on top of the ladder going through the season undefeated, while the CUA team had a few losses this season but still managed to pull together some strong wins without a full squad.
Boomerangs White were led by joint Golden Boot winners Badreldin Abbas and Elie Darwich and both players scored early int he in the first half. CUA are a team full of outdoor experience, doing well to match their skills indoors, however they were once more let down by not having a designated goal keeper.
They were punished in defence before the break as well, with a late brace from Lior Kalisse putting Boomerangs all but out of reach despite Jackson Paesler’s goal for the Academy.

The second half began increased intensity form both teams, with CUA having a couple of quick shots on goal but none on target as they chased the game.
It took just eight minutes of the half for Abbas added to add another two goals to his tally and push the Boomerangs lead out to five goals as they ran away with the match.
Despite their efforts, the Academy struggled to make inroads against a dominant and locked in Boomerangs outfit. The leader continued to put their foot down despite the lead, and andAndrew Aitchison grabbed a late double before goalkeeper Deakin Jewell rounded out the match with a final second goal.
