Gungahlin United 6 (Najwa ALLEN 29’, 40’, Ashleigh PALOMBI 3’, 8’, Brittany PALOMBI 17’, Becky ROCHE 4’) Boomerangs FS Youth 0
Gungahlin United turned in a spectacular display on Thursday night against Boomerangs Youth to emphatically progress to next week’s Futsal Premier League Grand Final.
Becky Rolfe got her side off to the perfect start with a goal after four minute before Ashleigh Palombi scored a brace within the following five minutes. Sister Brittany added another goal minutes before the break to send Gungahlin into half-time with an unassailable lead.
The Gunners continued to look the better side in the second half, and Najwa Allen’s brace, in the 29th and 40th minutes put the icing on a very sweet 6-0 victory.
NC Untouchables FC Navy 1 (Erika Pennyfield 30’) Boomerangs FS 0
NC Untouchables won through to the Futsal Premier League semi-final as they came through 1-0 victors from a more defensive game against Boomerangs.
Both sides looked to attack but were held out by strong displays at the back, and went into the half-time break locked scoreless.
Erika Pennyfield broke the deadlock at the half hour mark, as Untouchables surged into the lead with 10 minutes to go and held on despite Boomerangs pushing hard and with some great goalkeeping from Natalie Lacey.
