Capital Football wishes, on behalf of the Football Community, to extend it’s sincere condolences and best wishes to the Family & Friends of Steve Doszpot following his passing on Saturday.

Mr. Doszpot was a great Champion of football in the Canberra region, serving as president of both Capital Football and the ACT Olympic Council before his entry into Politics.

Capital Football Chairman Mark O’Neill and CEO Phil Brown expressed their sadness at the passing of Mr. Doszpot, and thanks for his contributions to our sport.

“Steve was deeply respected by the football community for his passion and commitment to the sport,” O’Neill said.

“Steve had been President of Capital Football and had a deep involvement with a variety of clubs as a coach and administrator. On behalf of the football community I extend our condolences to Steve’s family and friends.”

Brown added; “Steve was a staunch advocate for Football in the ACT. We are all beneficiaries of his tireless efforts.”
