With reference to the evolving COVID-19 heath orders and implications in metro and regional NSW, Capital Football have been liaising with ACT Health regarding teams travelling in and out of the ACT region.
ACT Health have advised Capital Football that there are currently no Public Health travel restrictions in place for Goulburn, Cooma, Griffith, Wagga, Palerang, Bungendore and Yass. Considering this all scheduled matches will go ahead this weekend, weather dependant.
We understand that the situation in metro and regional NSW may change at any time. As such anyone travelling outside of the ACT should keep up to date with the latest travel advice at Travel advice – COVID-19 (act.gov.au) and NSW Health as new exposure sites are added. ACT Health emphasise that people should be prepared to reconsider their plans at short notice. No one should be travelling into areas that are subject to quarantine or stay at home requirements. These areas include Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Shellharbour, Orange, Blayney and Cabonne Shire LGAs.
For teams travelling outside the ACT, or those from outside travelling into the ACT, we ask that you;
➢ Get in, Play, Get out.
➢ Limit the number of places you need to stop when travelling, where safe to do
so.
➢ Fuel up before you go.
➢ Take food with you.
➢ Avoid higher risk areas such as Petrol stations where possible.
➢ Avoid staying overnight where possible.
➢ Ensure that you always have hand sanitiser with you and maintain good hand hygiene
For teams playing in NSW, please be reminded that you need to adhere to the following requirements:
➢ Players, team officials, match officials, substitutes, spectators, venue managers and volunteers MUST wear a facemask at all times (this includes indoor and
outdoor spaces).
➢ Players and match officials may take their mask off only to warm-up and during the game. Team officials and substitutes MUST wear masks on the bench/sideline.
Capital Football’s priority is to ensure that not only the football community remains safe but also the surrounding community as well. For further information please visit the ACT Government COVID-19 and NSW Government Office of Sport websites.
