Missed the Women’s National Premier League Round 18? Here’s your wrap-up!
IN A NUTSHELL
Canberra Olympic were in ruthless form as a hat-trick from Tehya Asland helped the league leaders to an 8-0 romp over Tuggeranong United. Ginger Oliver got a treble as well, her three goals helping Gunners to a 4-0 win over ANU WFC where paradoxically, Canberra United goalkeeper Georgia Ritchie conceded four whilst her replacement at half-time for injury, Sofia Chaverra, a striker by trade, conceded none. Football eh. go figure. Elsewhere, it was a rare win for the Wanderers over Croatia, but they deserved it with a superb display.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
A smashing left footed effort from a narrow angle just under the crossbar confirmed West Canberra Wanderers upset at home against Canberra Croatia and earns Lauren Hall the goal of the Week accolade. Hall’s powerful right foot had often been on display in recent years, but her left did all the talking on Sunday.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
West Canberra Wanderers team gets the call this week. with a well-deserved success over Canberra Croatia, only their second in the NPLW history. Another team performance from the Wanderers, solid defensively, but for once efficient at the other end too.
TEAM OF THE WEEK

Olympic lead the way at the top of the table and will be seeking to maintain that when they travel to hawker Football centre to battle ANU WFC. By then, they will know where they stand after Belconnen United take on Tuggeranong under the Kambah lights on Friday evening. With Croatia and Gunners having already played, that’s your lot for Round 19!
