Missed the Men’s National Premier League Round 21? Here’s your wrap-up!
IN A NUTSHELL
Gungahlin United claimed the title, their 4-2 win over Tigers meaning they ended three points clear at the top, stymieing the late Canberra Croatia surge, Croatia beating Panthers 2-1. At the other end it is adios Olympic as they fell through the relegation trapdoor despite a spirited 4-3 win over O’Connor Knights. Yoogali got the win they needed, 2-0 over Tuggeranong, to complete their own Great Escape.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
The first of the afternoon from Olympic midfielder Adam Neou that brought his team back on to level terms at 2-2 and set them up for the victory that kept alive their survival chances. A nice team more, ended with a brilliant strike into the back off the net via the inside of the upright.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
Antoni Timotheou has been in superb form in recent weeks and the Gunners midfielder maestro was at his brilliant best as the Champions celebrated a win that confirmed the title. Two goals, a series of measured passes throughout, and an excellent all-action display earns him the nod this week.
