Missed the Men’s National Premier League Round 13? Here’s your wrap-up!
IN A NUTSHELL
A big weekend at the top of the table saw Gungahlin United put a dent in the Tigers championship hopes with a late double sealing a 3-0 win at the AIS, and it was a similar tale at Deakin Stadium, Daniel Sparrow off the bench to win it for Croatia against the Panthers. Meanwhile, Steve Nealon was at it again for Tuggeranong, scoring from the spot in their win over Yoogali, with the Knights also getting back to winning ways by securing the points against Olympic in the BBQ Derby.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
A brilliant free-kick from O’Connor Knights midfielder Jackson Paesler takes the award this week, the wide-man smashing home a stunning effort moments after Olympic had missed a penalty to put the Knights well on the way to a much-needed three-goal win in their local derby match.
PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK
A goal and assist and an all-round midfield performance of some dominance from Tuggeranong United midfielder Bevan Foxall earns him the nod for performance of the week this week. With Foxall’s contribution, United moved to within touching distance of the those above them in the NPL table.
