The national awareness campaign that turns sporting fields purple across Australia for pancreatic cancer, #PlayinPurple has been re-scheduled to the weekends of July 23/24 & 30/31.
This year, due to the adverse weather across NSW and the sheer amount of rain that has impacted the starting dates for many competitions around the state. This decision was made after considerable discussion and consultation with key associations & clubs with the understanding that the re-schedule will allow more time for clubs to find their rhythm and settle into the season, Capital Football will now follow suit. We thank everyone for their understanding.
#PlayinPurple is now in its 8th year and continues to grow across Australia, being embraced by football players from all codes ages and geographies, all passionately playing in purple socks on one weekend of their local season to raise critical awareness for pancreatic cancer.
Capital Football clubs wishing to participate MUST let the organisation know to avoid kit clashes in matches. Please contact our competitions department with your selected fixture(s) if you are participating in 2022.
