Warm weather, excellent goals, stunning defensive displays, and another round of entertaining football were all in the offing as the National Premier League Girls competitions played their second matches of the early part of the new 2025 season across Canberra.
NPL14
Canberra Croatia eased to a 7-1 win in the National Premier League Girls U14 competition, defeating BellaMonaro at South Jerrabomberra Sporting Complex with Isabella Clark and Aisha El Ayadi both scoring two goals. Belconnen United also enjoyed a big win, Grace Brann, and Abby Denmead on the scoresheet with a brace apiece in a 6-1 away win over Tuggeranong United at Kambah 2, whilst there were two goals for Antonia Catanzariti in Canberra Olympic’s 5-1 home success over the visiting Gungahlin United. In the other match played on Sunday, Majura FC edged out West Canberra Wanderers 3-2, Audrey Lindeman netting the 53rd minute match-winner, with Leila Evans scoring twice for the Wanderers.

A 58th minute goal from Scarlett McCallum was enough for West Canberra Wanderers to claim all three points with a 1-0 win over Majura FC in the NPLG15 competition at Dickson Playing Fields. Gemma Voortman and Sophia Papanicolaou were on target for Canberra Olympic in their win over Gungahlin United, Leilani Denis scored twice in the second-half to add to Gemma Jones opener in Canberra Croatia’s 3-0 away win over BellaMonaro, and Belconnen United managed nine goals on their trip to Tuggeranong, Evie Youden with two of them, the hosts failing to score in reply.

Grace York helped herself to four goals for West Canberra Wanderers as they claimed the maximum points from a 6-0 away victory over Majura FC in a weekend of plenty of goals in the NPLG17 competition. There were also four goals for Siena D’Ambrosio, to go alongside hat-tricks from Samantha Shea and Holly Conlon as Belconnen United put in a ruthless performance to dismantle Tuggeranong United at Kambah 2, but Gabriella Novak went even better as she scored six of the ten goals that Canberra Croatia racked up in an away win over BellaMonaro art South Jerrabomberra. In the other match on the weekend Canberra Olympic won an exciting match against Gungahlin United, coming out on top in a game that featured seven goals with a 4-3 win.
