National Premier League Girls action moved into Round 18 as the regular season begins to draw to its conclusion. Here’s the wrap up of the results from across the weekend in Canberra in the three girls competitions.
NPL14
Canberra Olympic enjoyed a big win to begin the NPL Girls U14 Round 16 action as a double form Sophia Fiorim plus two each from Madeline Field and Antonia Catanzariti helped the home team to an 8-0 win over Gungahlin United at O’Connor Enclosed. A day earlier, Canberra Croatia put nine past BellaMonaro FC without reply, Isabella Clark scoring five, and Aisha El Ayadi three in the win. There were seven goals at Dickson Playing Fields as West Canberra Wanderers edged out Majura FC 4-3 in a thriller, and a double from Eliza Georgiou, plus a goal from Aggie Shaw, helped Belconnen United to a 3-0 win over Tuggeranong United at Kambah 2.

NPL15
A goal from Shae Dumesic in the 63rd minute enabled Majura FC to claim all three points with a narrow 1-0 win over West Canberra Wanderers at Dickson Playing Fields in NPL15. This match began the Sunday action, the previous day sae Canberra Croatia net five in their win over BellaMonaro FC, Frankie Buchanan, Ruby Cunningham, Aislinn O’Dwyer, Bianka Apostoloska, and Madeline Tuttle on the scoresheet. An unfortunate own goal helped Gungahlin United to a narrow 2-1 win over Canberra Olympic at O’Connor Enclosed, Elsie Lang having given the Gunners the lead midway through the first-half only for Faria Pascha to level before the ending. Meanwhile, at Kambah 2, goals from Amy Sephora and Kyla Nixon saw Belconnen United inflict a 2-0 defeat on Tuggeranong United.

A goalless stalemate was the final result at Dickson Playing Fields on Sunday in the NPL17 competition was nothing could separate Majura FC and West Canberra Wanderers on a cool Canberra morning. Twenty-four hours earlier, Canberra Croatia had kickstarted the weekend with a comfortable 3-0 win over a valiant BellaMonaro FC at Yarralumla. On Sunday, Maya McRae and Zara Hall were on target as Gungahlin United defeated Canberra Olympic 2-1 coming from behind after Emma Bogaart had opened the scoring for the hosts, and at Kambah 2 Belconnen United were too good for Tuggeranong United, winning 8-0.
