Monaro Panthers and Tuggeranong United have both appointed new Head Coaches for the 2018 NPL season following the conclusion of the 2017 campaign.
The Panthers finished the season with only one win on the way to the Wooden Spoon in 2017, a 2-0 final day victory over Tuggeranong that ended United’s chances of playing finals. Now, Zoran Glavinic will replaced Lloyd Hewitt who helmed the side during 2017. Glavinic formerly coached Canberra FC, most recently to the Grand Final in 2016, before taking a year off Senior coaching in 2017.
For Tuggeranong, a late run to the finals was scuppered by that shock loss to Monaro on the final day of the season, but they will look to build on the back of a promising campaign as they head into 2018 under the tutelage of Mitch Stevens.
Following Miro Trninic’s exit earlier in the season, Sean Murphy took over the reins at United and came oh so close to leading them to the final four. Now, Stevens will replace him having had a year off after coaching Gungahlin United in 2016 and will have a solid foundation to work with in the new season.
