Supercats is brand new to the Capital Football FPL scene, with 2021 being the side’s first season. They take on North Canberra Untouchables, from 9:15pm, at ANU Sports Centre.

Given the restrictions around indoor training over the past few months, how has pre-season training been for your team?

A: Unfortunately, due to the COVID restrictions we haven’t been able to train the way that we would have liked. Instead we’ve collectively been practicing individually, and at times in small groups, at the local oval so that we can maintain our fitness levels. Some members of the team have taken lockdown as an opportunity to explore other sports like tennis and golf as well.

How happy are you with how the team is tracking and what are your expectations for the team this season?

A: This is our first season competing in FPL and we are all very excited! Most of us have been playing together since high school and have historically played in the division 1 competitions around Canberra. Given that its our first year, our expectations aren’t too high, but we believe we can be extremely competitive this season.

What excites you the most about this FPL season?

A: We’re all really excited about taking on the challenge of a larger court, we feel that it’ll give us a chance to shine in ways we were not able to on a normal court.
