Canberra young gun Aidan Milicevic has capped off a remarkable 2019, after he was named in the U16 All-Australian School Boys team that will tour the UK and Ireland in 2020.
Milicevic’s selection comes after a strong showing for ACT at the recently completed National Schools Championship held in Brisbane, with Canberra’s Cassidy Tanddo, Luca Florez and Callum Cook also earning selection in the Australian Squad.

It’s been some year for Milicevic, who was asked to trial with Marconi Stallions FC in the NSW National Premier League before the start of the season.
Milicevic was originally selected in Marconi’s U18 NPL side, but finished the season playing in the U20’s and also took home the U18 Player of the Year Award at the Stallion’s presentation night.
If his resume wasn’t impressive enough, Milicevic also featured in the ACT U15 National Futsal Championship winning team earlier this year.
Capital Football’s Head of Performance Scott O’Donell says Milicevic’s incredible 2019 is a testament to the hard work he has put in over the last few years.
“Aidan is a talented player, who is willing to work hard to improve his game,” O’Donell said.
“The sacrifice that he and his family have made this year to travel to Sydney three times a week [to train with Marconi], speaks volumes about his attitude and character.”
Meanwhile, four ACT representatives were selected as a shadow players for the U18 All-Australian School Girls team.
Gungahlin United’s Stella De Marco and Jade Brown, Belconnen United’s Ayla Robertson and Canberra United Academy’s Alex Hinson all earned selection following stand out performances at the Schools Championship in Brisbane.
