The sounds of football will multiply around the playing fields of Canberra this weekend as the new season of ActewAGL Junior League football gets underway.
More than 370 clubs will see thousands of players don the boots for the 2022 season, with many beginning their football journey in their clubs’ mini sections for the first time and, whilst action will be fast and furious, there’s sure to be lots to smile about.
“The Junior League is incredibly well supported by our clubs, and we are anticipating yet another wonderful year of action on the fields of Canberra,” Capital Football Participation Manager, Kelly Stirton commented.
“For many this will mark the beginning of a life-long association with the game, and we wish everyone taking part the best of luck and hope they enjoy the experience to the maximum.”
Underlying the senior football competition, the Capital Football ActewAGL Junior League is one of the largest leagues in Australia. It offers divisional competitions for U12’s – U18’s.
Many of the Capital Football junior clubs are affiliated with senior teams, providing a pathway for all ages. The junior clubs are predominantly run by volunteers, who in conjunction with Capital Football make the ActewAGL Junior League Competition viable.
Good luck to everyone competing in the ActewAGL Junior League in 2022.
