Paul Wade in Canberra

Former Socceroos Captain Paul Wade will be in Canberra as a guest of Woden-Weston FC & Capital Football next week for a number of exciting events.

Paul will begin his visit with a 'Football in Business' lunch at the Southern Cross Club Woden on Friday 23rd June, speaking to guests about the Luncheon topic, but also about tales from his brilliant heyday as a professional football and also his post-retirement career in the public eye as a television personality.

"I'm Looking forward to sharing a yarn or two with the locals," Wade said, "at the business luncheon and evening event for the Woden-Weston Football Club."

Tickets for the lunch can be found here.

Wade will also be conducting two clinics on the evening of Thursday 22nd June for local youngsters.

The Clinic will be held at Melrose High School Synthetic Pitch (Pearce 2) and will run in two sessions as follows;

  • 5.45-6.45pm – U14’s Boys
  • 7.15-8.15pm – U16’s Boys

Capital Football are giving local Playstation4  National Premier Leagues clubs the chance to select players to send along to the clinics, a fantastic opportunity for those players to learn from a great speaker and someone that has played at the absolute highest level of the game.

Wade will conduct the clinics and said he is looking forward to seeing if Canberra's footballers are as talented as he has heard.

"I'm on a mission to see if Canberra kids are as good as people say they are," he said.

"You never know, we might find the next Tommy Rogic while we're here!"
