Mike Shanahan

Mike Shanahan has been involved in Football for over 50 years including coaching for over 45 years. The past 26 years have been in Canberra and with the last 18 years dedicated to one school. He attended some of the first FA coaching courses in the UK that had some of the then England and Derby County (ala Brian Clough) players. 
Mike has a very broad corporate based career with experience in Sales, Marketing, Administration, Finance, Education, Consulting, Support, Information Systems, Press, Partnering, Corporate sponsorship and Resource Planning of business in the Asia Pacific region. He started his career as a graduate with Rolls Royce Aero engines and finishing as Managing Director in the IT industry. He is now semi retired.
He and his family are actively involved in raising awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis Federation Australia and CMRI - the Children’s Medical Research Institute. He has also found time to support young men through mentoring at Menslink and to assist with finance contracts for Humanitarian projects.

Mike hopes to be a very good ambassador for Football and for the future Football aspirations of Canberra and its outlying region.
