Laws of the Game

In 2016, the International Football Association Board conducted a major review into the Laws of the Game. The purpose of this revision was designed to make the Laws of the Game more accessebile, concise and clear. As a result, the 2016/17 edition of the Laws of the Game is now 10,000 words fewer than previous editions.

The major revison of the Laws of the Game aims to creat a clearer and consistent mode of interpretation worldwide for referees, coaches, players and fans of football.

The changes made by IFAB will be enforced in Capital Football competitions from the start of the 2017 Winter season.
